The Word™ for Wednesday

If we accept and acquiesce in the face of discrimination, we accept the responsibility ourselves and allow those responsible to salve their conscience by believing that they have our acceptance and concurrence. We should, therefore, protest openly everything... that smacks of discrimination or slander.
Mary McLeod Bethune (1875-1955)

What have we learned so far this week?

  1. Cam Newton gives 0 fucks about what "they" feel about his behavior post game Super Bowl 50.
  2. Some People still believe you can make a derogatory remark and backtrack and we should be OK with that.
  3. Your own people will go against you.
We as a people face so many obstacles; people love you when your benefiting them but as soon as you go against the status quo and shed light on any amount of discrimination, affliction, or problem - they scatter or want you to be all-inclusive.

Usually the Word for Wednesday includes a scripture for whatever applicable message or point I'm trying to get across, today is different. I believe Mary McLeod Bethune, as noted in the quote above, said it all. If we accept the way things are and fail to protest openly in the face of discrimination, we allow the oppressors to believe they have one. No matter what you face, always fight for what you believe in. Who cares who may not like it? as long as you are doing  the right thing and using whatever platform you can to make a situation better, you a winner.

Now, let's get in formation.
