Throwback Thursday: Amerie || All I Have
Picture Summer 2002, I'm fresh out of 8th grade and with a pocket full of allowance money entering the hottest mall in my area at the time- PG Plaza. I enter through the food-court and see mountains of people and make my usual stop at "The Station" normally because they have decent sales and most of the time are playing hot videos and that day was no different.
I was excited by the song's horns...it reminded me of a similar song- which later proved to be "I've Got You Where I Want You" by Dave Grusin. I was immediately in love with the girl singing- her voice was fresh, unlike the many one-hit-wonders breaking onto the music scene at the time. Why Don't We Fall in Love quickly became locked in my mind- I had to have the cd.
I didn't get to see the credits but I remembered alot of the lyrics, I found out who it was.....Amerie
and the title of the cd I brought the day it came out...All I Have.
