It may seem like Elle Varner came out of nowhere, but the singer isn't new to the music industry. As a matter of fact, she grew up in it. Elle spoke to S2S Publisher Jamie Foster Brown about her protective father, shrinking from a size 14 to a size 4, what her "Refill" track really means, her unique style (including that hair!) and men. Find out more about the sultry singer in the November 2012 issue of Sister 2 Sister!

Jamie: There’s a buzz that Malia Obama is a big fan of yours.
Elle: Yes!
Jamie: What was your first thought when you found that out?
Elle: One of my friends called me and she said, “Girl, Michelle Obama just talked about your album on ‘E! News.’” And I was like, “You have got to be kidding me.” The fact is, I prayed on it. I prayed about that months ago. I said, “God, if Michelle Obama or Oprah or…” I was just thinking of, like, powerful people—
Jamie: Right.
Elle: That if they were able to note what I was doing, what that might mean for my career, and for that to actually happen, I’m just so honored.
Elle wants her father to find love. Find out more about him and Elle in the November 2012 issue of Sister 2 Sister.
SN: I Love Elle, but more important I Love her honesty.
