"The main thing is prayer. Prayer is so powerful" Powerful Words from Meagan Good
The Above pic does nothing to describe the true beauty of Miss Meagan Good. She recently sat down with FEARLESS Magazine to discuss her role in Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man as well as to offer words of encouragement for Young Women. I absolutely Love this woman!
Noted in Sister2Sister,
"What you're supposed to do in the world, nobody else can do," she told the girls. "So, now you're gone. So now it's not gonna get done, and what you didn't do is going to affect so many other people's lives."
Meagan said that she felt part of her purpose in life was to sit down and talk to girls. She's got a lot more on her plate, though, revealing that her entire family is depending on her to survive.
"I've been taking care of my whole family financially since I was 14," Meagan said, sharing that her brother has a learning disability caused by brain damage he suffered during childhood. Meagan also has an adopted younger sister, and her mother and older sister are both retired. "I've had that weight on my shoulders my whole life pretty much."
What's kept the actress grounded amidst all of her personal battles, which she still goes through to this day, is her connection to God. She advised the girls that beginning their day with prayer is a great place to start in the struggle not to lose heart.
"The main thing is prayer. Prayer is so powerful, and God is so powerful," she said. "He's so beyond our own efforts and our own energy and the things that we have going on in our lives."
Prayer is so essential to Meagan's life that she prays about everything. And we mean absolutely everything. "I pray to God to give me strength, to give me vision, to tell me what to do, how to live—sometimes what to wear!" she revealed.
And she told the girls to pick up the Bible as well and get into the Word. "It uplifts me to a point where I feel like I have the energy and I have the strength to get through whatever the day brings," she explained.
