Monday in D.C.: Rally & Vigil for Trayvon Martin 3.26.2012 #DMV #JusticeForTrayvon
From an email sent by Justin Ruben, MoveOn.org Political Action. I'll post images and video's following these events. #JusticeforTrayvon

There's two important events demanding justice for Trayvon Martin in Washington, D.C. tomorrow (Monday): a rally and petition delivery at the Department of Justice, and a candlelight vigil. Please come to one or both if you can.
By now, you've probably heard about Trayvon—the 17 year-old African-American student in Florida who was shot by a self-appointed neighborhood vigilante while returning from a local convenience store. Trayvon was carrying nothing but an iced tea and a bag of Skittles.
So many of us have cried over this story. And literally millions of us have spoken out against this travesty through online petitions, photos, messages shared on Facebook, and rallies. Tomorrow there will be vigils for Trayvon across America on the one-month anniversary of his death. Here's what's happening in D.C.
RALLY AND PETITION DELIVERY:
Join Maria Roach, creator of the SignOn.org petition for justice for Trayvon Martin, for a rally to deliver her petition to the Department of Justice. The petition has over 500,000 signatures, and it's important that we have a strong showing for tomorrow's delivery.

There's been vigils, rallies, and marches in cities around the country over the last week— all organized by regular people who are standing up to racism and senseless hate violence.
Local organizers are hoping to build a big crowd to show the media and authorities that from coast to coast, we stand united for justice and against racial profiling. These are also opportunities for us to come together as communities to celebrate the life and mourn the loss of a young man who died too young.
This is our opportunity, as members of the MoveOn community, to join in this movement for justice and to share with our friends, neighbors, and loved ones the story of Trayvon Martin. It's a way we can help stop yet another American tragedy.
Thanks for all you do.
