Justice for Trayvon Martin (A CALL TO ACTION)

I hate to quote a rapper for this post but no words could be truer than these

Unfortunately, what I have to share is not concealed racism. By now you should all be familiar with the murder of Trayvon Martin, a young man whom while visiting his father in Sanford, FL was shot and killed by a neighborhood watchman, George Zimmerman whom is claiming self defense and as of today has NOT been arrested in reference to this crime.

This young man is African American and was carrying the following in his hands: a bag of skittles candy and an Arizona Ice Tea can. For more complete coverage of the history of this story I strongly suggest you follow Mr. Trymaine Lee via HuffingtonPost or the Facebook Fan Page Justice for Treyvon. The purpose of this post is to raise awareness of a problem in America that’s like an elephant in the room that will not go away. Racism and “The Good Ol’Boy” network have reared it’s ugly head again. Even in a world where we have an African American president we STILL as a race have to be subjected to the moral-less souls of this earth that refuse to remember and uphold the following statement in The Declaration of Independence “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” All men doesn’t mean just white men, Hispanic men, blue men, or pink men. ALL MEN are created equal. I cannot remember any history lesson that taught one race was superior than the other and another inferior of another. This ignorant mindset has been passed down from generation to generation- and it needs to stop.


I would like to call to action all my readers, visitors, bloggers etc. to sign the below petition. I know we all won’t be able to make it to the National Rally for Justice For Trayvon Martin in Sanford Florida Monday March 26 but we can be there in spirit and sign in solidary that this racism, un-responsiveness to injustice will not be tolerated. Imagine if it was your child, brother, uncle, father whom went to the store to obtain items for you, only to be shot for being guilty of nothing but “walking while black”.
