Giving Back ….02.14.2012

A Gift collection was taken up very shortly before Christmas for our Hospitality Crew in my office this past year…due to various key leaders being out of the office and pretty much forgetfulness we forgot to get a gift. Few more weeks past and after raising the issue with my supervisor we finally decided to go forth and throw a small get-together lunch for them.

Not many people embraced this idea, they felt $Money$ was more appropriate. I don’t know about you, but if someone was to just walk up to me and hand me money I’d be 1. Skeptical 2. Possibly offended and 3. Wonder if their thoughtlessness was a sign of something more serious (like possibly losing my job). Either way, I make the “executive decision” LOL to move forth with the party.

And I’m so happy I did. The smiles, the appreciation, the love shown made it all worth it for me.

It was so hard to throw together something so simple because of people’s personal agenda’s and opinions.

But God prevailed and I got to do something that really brought my spirits up and set the tone for the day….it was so worth it.
