Chris Rock (born Christopher Julius Blake) was born February 7, 1967 in Andrews, South Carolina. Shortly thereafter his parents moved to New York. Rock is most notable for being a comedian and actor, however he is also a is a screenwriter, television producer, film producer and director.
1926 -What we now call Black History Month originated in 1926, founded by Carter G Woodson as Negro History Week. The month of February was selected in deference to Frederick Douglass andAbraham Lincoln who were both born in that month.
1872 – Alcorn State University was founded as the result of the people of Mississippi’s efforts to educate the descendants of formerly enslaved Africans. It was named in honor of the sitting governor of Mississippi, James L. Alcorn. The site was originally occupied by Oakland College, a school established by Presbyterians in 1828.
1945 – Irwin C. Mollison appointed to United States Customs Court
