SPOTLIGHT: Premiere of "Love & HipHop" Season 2
the 1st episode started off with a BANG (Literally).....
My initial reactions are below:
1. Why is “Somaya" still on this show with that dumb ass “manager”? Personally I admire her hustle, but I refuse to accept her half-ass attempts. Your manager SUCKS, get rid of his ass and either manage yourself or get with people who have better common sense and YOUR interest at heart. Also get better writers.
2. Yandy is OK, not sure what to make of her other than another young woman attempting to establish themselves and their independence; and I can't see anything wrong but applaud her for her efforts. . I won't pass judgment on her until I see more of her....very pretty girl.
3. Kimbella DID NOT present herself well on the 1st episode; she was giving me all types of attitude (maybe it was the bad bitch syndrome we women tend to carry). I won't pass judgment on her until I see more of her....very pretty girl tho.
4. Olivia I missed the first 13 mins of the show so apparently i missed some info about her. I've always rode for her ever since her "Bizzounce" days and "Silly Bitch in Love" (posting the Youtube Links Later) I just hope she's not allowing herself to be used or manipulated and rises above the drama from last year.
5. Emily I feel for wholeheartedly, I was once in her position; with someone for years with no ring or REAL commitment; I honestly felt that pain so when she was hurting last season I hurt too. The cheating, lying, deceiving! ugh, but I'm very glad she's moving on, taking care of her babies, and regaining her independence. Her body is SICK (#motivation)
6. Last but most certainly not least, Chrissy. My FB status last night before bed was “Three Words: I LOVE CHRISSY” and it’s true. I admire her decisions thus far; by proposing to Jimmy (which was a BOLD move) I felt she was taking her life and future into her own hands and saying F the traditions. However, I pray that it doesn’t bite her in the ass and this fool take his pretty time marrying her. I also love how she is as a friend, maybe because she’s older but in any event I appreciate her standing up for Emily and smooth sneaking Kimbella (more on that later). She’s a jokester, which I love and she also had a SICK body. She, Livia, and Emily all wear Indique Hair so that’s a big plus. Chrissy is my best friend in my head, along with Chelsea lol.
Back to the ass-whipping….
Kimbella was DEAD ASS wrong for spilling the “tea” in such a fashion; how dare you walk into my homegirl party and say shit from way back! In front of everybody! In the middle of HER waiting to exhale party!. Her intentions may have been good but unfortunately she messed with the wrong friend. People say that it wasn’t chrissy’s place to get loud and ultimately sock girl in her face BUT in my eyes that’s what a True friend is. If I’m unable to speak up for myself or am allowing someone to bring drama into my mix, I’d love to have a friend who would speak up and be like “yo b*tch, you dead ass wrong”. It may have went too far when she hit her granted, but she was being real rude and sometimes…people only pay attention to ass whippings. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s found out that ol girl has a past that at some point involved Chrissy and this was payback.
All in all, I’m glad I stopped being crazy and actually tuned in to Love & Hip Hop over the summer online. The only gripe I have is that people will ONCE AGAIN use this and other “reality” shows as a representation of all African American females; that all we do is fight, bitch, moan, complain, and shop. When in the REAL reality, we all are different and these women only represent themselves.
I'll rewind and come back to this interpretations once the season ends.
